Respecting Diversity in Music

Children are natural musicians. Early exposure is essential, as it enhances their learning process. Music promotes language development, creativity, coordination, and social interaction.

Do you need to be able to play and instrument well, or sing in-tune to help young children appreciate musical sounds?

No, in fact, music can be enjoyable regardless of your (and the children’s) musical aptitude.

It is of utmost importance, that children be exposed to diverse types of music. Expose your child to music from different lands and ethnic groups to ensure a multi-cultural education.

This provides children with understanding that music communicates a huge variety of things, including (but not limited to) feelings and ideas.

Children should be always encouraged to express themselves musically, as early exposure plays a fundamental role in every child’s whole development.
